After staying up half the night with my newborn son (who has garnered the title “The Conqueror”) I started my morning by cooking some eggs.
My wife and I have a special way that we prepare them. She discovered that if you let the butter fully melt in the pan and coat the bottom of the stainless steel, the egg residue is easier to wash off after the cooking has completed.
What does that have to do with marketing?
Well, a few things maybe… How about making sure that you keep the end goal in mind. Just like I was focused this morning on how the melting of the butter would affect the dishwashing, the marketer should be focused on how his message will connect with his end reader (his market.)
Another thought. Being prepared and taking the time to get your message correct can lead to success. Just like you can’t make butter melt faster (without burning it) you really can’t rush preparing your marketing message.
Marketing is the most important part of your business. No one can buy from you if they don’t know you exist.
By the way, the eggs were great. I always season my scrambled eggs with red pepper flakes after they are on the plate.
P.S. Always wait till the very end to add the salt, otherwise your eggs will remain watery. Thank you Gordon.
